I have set up my iPhone to use the English laguage (settings -> general -> international -> language). The whole userinterface is in english, that's just how I want it to be. But some parts of AppStore and iTunes are in german (presumably because I live in switzerland), and the prices are now in swiss francs. The language changed after I first connected the phone to a a PC and uploaded some music. When I bought the phone and before I connected it to a PC, the whole userinterface was english, and the prices were in US dollar. I don't care about in which currency the prices are, but I want an english interface! Is there any way to reset the AppStore and iTunes language to English? Thanks.
the app store changes only if the App Store is avialable in other language in the iTune Store, for example, the US App Store is in English and Spanish, so if u live in the US, and u set up ur phone to use German, the App Store WONT change to German, because is not avialable, only in Spanish and English.

What language is displayed in the iTunes Store within iTunes on your computer? I would think that would be the language used on your iPhone for those stores.
The stores on the iPhone were probably in English before you connected it to your computer because it did not have the details of an account for purchasing items from the stores.
iTunes on my computer is in english, but the Store on is in german. But I found a way to change that, there was an 'Mein Store' (My Store) dropdown list with lots of countries. After I selected 'United Statess' and synced my iPhone, both AppStore and iTunes are in beautiful english again. Thanks you both for the pointers 🙂

You probably won't be allowed to purchase from the United States iTunes store if you are in Switzerland.
I live in Japan. On my Mac the App store shows English descriptions of the applications (where available) but on my iPod Touch they are displayed in Japanese.
As with Nevil, I too live in Japan and am facing the same problems with the language. Since I am an American citizen with American credit cards working on an American military installation, I had to register a US iTunes account. There are a few problems with this:
1. The AppStore displays some applications that are not region specific to where I am.
2. (The Big One) Since I had to register my iTunes account as a US store, My iPhone 3G thinks that I am in the States. This means that when I log on to Maps, it automatically believes that my phone is in the US, but when locating, cannot pinpoint my location (since I am halfway around the world).
Yet, when test driving MobileMe, which at the current time is not worth the price, it reset my phone to Japan (How or why it did this, I do not know) ... Then my Maps worked phenomenally well with little to no drag.
Once I connected my phone back to my laptop and Synced with iTunes, back to the US settings it went and with it my ability to use Maps and any other program that currently uses GeoTagging.

So I guess what I am trying to ask, is there a way one can have a US account, but change their location in order to properly utilize the many iPhone 3Gs great new assets? I find this to be a disservice not only for American government employees working at locations around the world (such as I am) but any American living abroad.
If anyone knows of anyway to make this work, it would be greatly appreciated.

Notes:
1. For those of you who will say to just sign up for an iTunes account for the country you are in, this is impossible unless you have a credit card issued from that specific country.
2. Even if I were somehow able to set up the Japan iTunes store account, my iTunes would automatically switch over to Kanji (Japanese characters) and this would be useless to me.
Living in Switzerland, I've the same problem.... with my account and my VISA on the Swiss AppStore, I've the menus in German... and I don't like that... everything else is in English...
If I change the Store Language, I cannot use my account anymore... would be more logic to keep the same language for everything.... and they say that the Swiss AppStore is in English too.... must be a workaround...
