Database is Locked - error on syncing iPhone/iPod Touch with iTunes 7.7

I have an iPhone 3G and an iPod Touch (upgraded to 2.0 firmware).

Things were working fine last night, and I went to bed with everything plugged in. Came down this morning to a kernel crash.

Since then, synching hasn't worked for either machine. Console shows errors like:

+12:11:05.762|AppleMobileSync|854:2691088288|SyncClient.m:-[ConcreteSyncClient processChangesFromDevice:dataClass:moreComing:info:]| ERROR: Canceling session, exception NSGenericException pushing changes: error 5 executing 'pragma synchronous=normal': database is locked+

+7/13/08 12:14:40 PM [0x0-0x79079].com.apple.iTunes[791] MobileDevice: AMDeviceCopyValue: There was an error getting the value from lockdown+

Any ideas? Frustrating...
