Registering the IPOD Shuffle

I consider my self computer literate, but the process of registering a new shuffle was grinding. Everytime I plugged the shuffle in the base- it wanted to register it. Ok, fine, this is my first time using it- when I clicked the Continue tab it brought me to a blank Itunes screen. Nothing happened.

Ok, I give up. I read all of the online manuals again and I followed all of the procedures. Until I found the solution......

The next time you connect and are asked to register..instead of clicking the Continue button, click on the Regiser Later button. Then it will take you to the IPOD Shuffle setup screen where you can then see the Itunes listing and settings tab. Cmon Apple, why the backward approach to making a simple device so difficult.

Hope this helps some out.

This happened to me too earlier. I just bought my shuffle yesterday and plugged it in today. When I continued to register, it showed a blank screen with "iTunes Store" at the top. I hit register later like you said and put in my iPod's name. Then I just registered my Shuffle on Apple's website. It's kind of inconvenient though :\

That seems to be a different problem.

I'm experiencing the same problem registering my Shuffle; a blank screen after clicking 'continue' on the 'Register your iPod Shuffle' page.

See these two screenshots (at 1920x1200, to show that screen size is not the problem here):
First step: http://niet.net/tmp/shuffle-registration-step-1.png
Second step: http://niet.net/tmp/shuffle-registration-step-2.png

Pressing 'Enter' on that second screen will start to play music from the Shuffle, but does not proceed with registration.

Yes those screen shots are the same screens I'm getting. resolution level is not the problem here. Chris CA's message said to set my resolution to 1024x768, but the article says set it to 1024x768 or higher. My resolution was always higher, and this is a problem with iTunes 7.5, but I have 7.7.
