transfer office to Macbook Air

Hi,

I would like to know how can I simply (if possible) transfer the Office file (word, excel, power point, ...) from my Powerbook G4 to my new Macbook Air (limited connectivity).
I just read on Google that the Migration assistant does not accept to transfert neither individual files nor selection of files...

Thanks a lot
Regards

If you have the external DVD drive you can reinstall Office on the computer. Note that installing on more than one CPU at a time may violate the software license (you need to have the Academic version which came with three licenses.)

You have an older version of Office, so you should consider upgrading to the latest Office 2008 which will be a better version for the MBA.

If you can access a USB external drive you could transfer to the external drive in order to move the folder to the MBA.

If you can network both computers you could transfer the folder via Ethernet or wireless via file sharing.

thanks for your answer
i'm not sure to have been sufficiently precise
my goal is to copy all the Microsoft Office X folder from my G4 to my McBook Air
if I do as you advise to do, is it always possible to upgrade after to the new office 2008 version ??
I have not 2 machines (the screen of my G4 is out of order), my macbook air is replacing my G4, it would be normal if I could re-use my license .... it's not a illicit copy but a switch

when the Office folder copied on my MBA, do you think it will be possible to upgrade to the latest office 2008 version ??
does it make a difference to transfer the folder via ethernet or wireless and via and Portable Hard Drive ? maybe the PHD is considered as a new computer ??
thanks again

It makes no difference how you transfer the Office folder. You also will need to transfer the Microsoft and Office related preferences located in your /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder.

Is it not possible to use the Remote Disk facility of the MBA? Could you use a flash drive (2 GBs would be large enough for the Office folder and preferences?)
