iTunes could not connect to iPhone - 0xE8000035

Hello,

I don't have to use Windows (luckily) other than work, however I decided to buy an iPhone yesterday anyway. I got one! everything is beautiful and awesome, but unfortunately Apple does not support Linux. I kinda understand, but no... but not really.

Anyway, I even installed Windows Vista on my laptop (2G Ram, Dual Core etc) downloaded the latest iTunes, set up an apple account, apple ID. When I plug-in my iPhone and turn on iTunes I receive the following error message:

*iTunes could not connect to iPhone "" because an unknown error occurred. (0xE8000035)*

After hours of research on the internet I couldn't find the right solution, not even somebody who had the same error message.

I hope that someone could help me here . . .

Thank you,
iM

i have the same problem!
the iphone and cable work fine at work, but not on my home computer. (both run windows XP). So i guess it is a problem with my computer / itunes.

i have tried using all 6 different USB ports on my computer.
I've tried the 5 R's.
my iPhone shows up in my computer and device manager, and i can pull pictures from it (thinks its a camera)
my USB controller shows "Apple Mobile Device USB controller".
i tried replacing the driver for that with the latest one thinking the default was bad, but that didn't work.
and whenever i try and restart the Apple Mobile Device service i get this same 0xe000035 error message

please help! i am on the verge of tears trying to fix this!

I get the same message on a home windows machine with my original iphone with 2.0 software installed. Curiously the iphone camera is seen and trigger the photo software. The phone works fine with my work laptop with XP pro and with my macbook. My son's ipod touch with 2.0 has the same problem with the home windows machine but works fine with his macbook pro. Clearly these aren't isolated problems. I long for the elusive answer.

I got "iTunes could not connect to iPhone - 0xE8000035" this morning but I found a simple solution: I unplugged my old external hdd witch runs via USB and then it worked, guess my USB-thingy in the computer got overload. So you guys can allways try to only use Mouse, keyboard and Iphone via USB and it might work. Hope this helps some poor guy.
