I am new to Keynote. But quite impressed by the effects and simplicity of it. Can I open Poswerpoint presentation in Keynote and apply the Keynote effects to it? I've tried it a couple of times to no avail. If not possible, can I open PP and a blank Keynote side by side and drag (copy and paste) from pp to Keynote as if making a new Keynote presentation?
It is pp 2003. I have been able to open pp in KN but I want to know how I can apply the KN effects to the the transferred slides and photos. Is it possible or should I start from scratch?
What do you mean by "apply the Keynote effects"? Once the PowerPoint file is converted to Keynote, the elements on the slides should be accessible to builds, animations, and graphic effects just as if they were created in Keynote originally. Can you provide a bit more detail as to what you want to do?
You can certainly drag objects/images for a PPT open window into a blank Keynote fine. Or if you are opening a PPT in keynote, then, yes you should be able to ADD any Keynote effects to images/items in any slide and to the slides/transitions (you'll obviously have to add most, and most Keynote effects are absent in PPT03). I think you usually should find old PPT transitions doe get "translated" into Keynote effects.
