Palm software for IPHONE

I am a Palm user and would consider switching to Mac/Apple - EVERYTHING... but I NEED the Palm desktop software to work on the IPHONE. I'm sure there is a way to import my hundreds of addresses but what I really want is a cute little button on my iphone (yet to be purchased) that shows the Palm software. Either that or is there any chance APPLE will at some point create similar software so I can make the switch. I really hate carrying around three pieces of equipment. I would happily switch to the IPHONE but alas, for the moment, it just doesn't have what I need to make my digital life sing.

Unfortunately, what you're asking for (Palm OS emulator) isn't allowed by Apple. You can export/import from Palm Desktop to your Mac Address Book and iCal applications.

In Palm Desktop, File>Export

For addresses, choose:
Module: Addresses
Items: what you want, I used the All ### addresses option
Format: vCard

For calendars, choose:
Module: Date Book
Items: same as above
Format: vCal

In Address Book, File>Import>vCards

In iCal, File>Import>Import a vCal file

After importing you may have to do some clean up as Palm Desktop's Export feature sometimes combines addresses.

I agree and hope that the palmstuff/software or similar will be available soon in iPhone. A calender that asks me how often a birthday will happen in one year is really astonishing. . .

You'll have to look for something similar in the App Store. As I said in my earlier post, Palm OS emulators are verboten for the iPhone.
