iPhone 3G won't display own number

I have upgraded from the iPhone to the new iPhone 3G. My old iPhone would always display my own number at the top of the contacts page. This doesn't appear on my new iPhone 3G. I have taken the SIM out of the phone and put it into another to check if my own number is set ok on the sim card and it looks fine. Any way of getting this working?

So when you go tap on the phone button and then tap on the contacts button it doesn't show up? My husband didn't think he had it either until I showed him. He simply had to scroll up to see it. It is odd that on both of our phones we can see it, but you can't see it on yours. ??? It does NOT show on the contacts app on the home page though.

I have a US 3G iPhone I picked up on Friday (7/11), and it does show my own # on the contact list. It's above the "search" field.

I agree. Mine does this also. I think what is confusing is that when tap the top of the list, it goes to the search field. You need to "pull" the screen down a little to see the number. So it's still there, but it doesn't jump to the top to show you the number like it used to on the older software.

My US iPhone doesn't diplay its own number at the top of the contacts app when you go into Contact from the 2nd page of the home screen.

However, as parker79 says in a post above, my iPhone DOES display its own number when I go to Phone and then from the bottom of the phone page I select Contacts. You have to scroll to the top of the list of contacts, above "A" to see it.

Also, under Settings->Phone my phone number is listed.
