App install stuck in loop

I downloaded an app (Diamond Twister) from the App Store via the iPhone. The download seemed to work ok, but when it tries to install, it gets about 2/3 of the way, stops, goes back to zero and tries to install again. It seems to be stuck in this install loop, and it's sucking the life out of my battery as well as tying up the phone. I have shut the phone down and restarted, but it just keeps on trying to install. I also tried re-downloading the app. Is there someway I can make it stop trying to install so I can get my iPhone back? Thanks.

I sent an email to Gameloft regarding this problem and got an automated reply saying they would get back to me in 3 or 4 days. In the meantime, my iPhone is essentially useless. I would strongly recommend that no one download Diamond Twister (or probably any games from Gameloft) until they get this bug worked out.

This is occurring with apps from other vendors. It is an iPhone issue, not a particular game developers...

I have the same exact problem since douwnloading diamond twister. I wonder if it really is an iphone issue...Please keep us updated if you find any help. I am at a loss at this point. It is frustrating. I cannot do any sort of wireless install or update. It all has to go through itunes via usb since installing diamond twister.

Mine does the same thing with only Diamond Twister. I redownloaded it three times. No difference. Nonstop install loop that cannot be broken. Rebooting the iPhone does not work to break the cycle. However, putting the phone into the undocumented Recovery Mode Does break the cycle, but you have to wait two hours while iTunes reinstalls all systems software and then recovers one of your designated backups. Then you have to manually reinstall apps to keep Diamond Twister from reinstalling. Turn off auto sync! I spent at least 8 hours going through every possibility before finding the recovery mode.

Recovery mode is reached by doing the following:

If not working either, try holding sleep and power buttons until the iPhone goes dark, then release the power button and hold the sleep button down for another ten seconds.

I have broken the install loop by doing the following:

1. plugging the phone into my computer and syncing with itunes.
2. Once in itunes I go to the app store amd find the app stuck in the loop.
3. redownload through itunes
4. Check ot uncheck the app on your phone sync list
5. then sync the phone apps again.
6. unplug the phone from the usb and then turn the phone off and on by holding the sleep button for about 3 sec. hold sleep button again to turn on.

It is a pain, but it works until apple comes up with a fix (HINT HINT).
