To fetch your contacts data manually you need to refresh the .me account on your iPhone. I think this can only be done by refreshing the email (ie ..@me.com) account. Once this is done, when you go to your contacts you will see them being refreshed as well.

Like the OP, I was trying to figure out how to do this as well; your answer seems relatively logical, so I'm gonna give it a try shortly.

Ok, I think I just stumbled upon the correct answer on how to manually fetch MobileMe contacts and calendars.

So I was updating some of the info of about 5 of my contacts from the MobileMe site (www.me.com) on my computer, and once saved, I went to my contacts app on my iPhone, looked up one of the contacts I updated, and it was still the old, un-modifed version; however, after about 5 seconds, it updated, along with the other 4 that I modified.

So it seems that the method to manually pulling the new info is by opening the desired app (contacts app, or calendars app), and waiting a few seconds for them to update. Sure, it doesn't push it to you automatically without you opening the appropriate app, but lets be honest, it still updates when you request the info anyways.

I hope this helps.
