Errm... I just looked in Library/Printers/HP/laserjet on my system, and one of the folders is '2600 series' which contains, amongst other items, hpclj2600PM.plugin. I'd check your system, and if it's not there, check the System disc which shipped with your Mac and see if you can install additional printers

If the drivers are in Library/Printers/HP, (not System/Library) then you should be able to use the printer. If you can't, reinstall the drivers from the system disc. You should have a grey DVD which shipped with your Mac, or a black DVD which you bought separately, or both. The grey DVD contains the software bundle specific to your Mac. There may be more than one of them. The black DVD contains the generic OS X install, and does not contain any bundled software. Try to install the printer drivers from one of them.

I have been on to HP this morning and they say that they do not support this printer in Leopard only earlier versions. It is in the HD library but not my persona library
I think that I am i trouble until HP update their software to support HP Colour laserjet 2600n on Leopard. If you have any other thoughts then alwas happy to try

Thanks for all your suggestions so far

I use 3 Color LaserJet 2600n printers at home and work and they definitely work with Leopard. I note that in one of your earlier messages that you are connected via USB. That might be your problem. The n at the end of the name denotes a network printer. Try connecting the printer to your computer using an Ethernet cable.

Not going to happen. Try using the ethernet connection, and either a generic PostScript or PCL printer driver, or see if there are any 3rd-party drivers which work.
