I have got my new 3G phone and downloaded itunes updated software, but unable to access itunes store. Have uninstalled and reinstalled the software at least 20 times. anyone out there got a fix for this. PLEASE
I am having the same sort of problem - I bought a new wireless router and itunes worked over the wifi network for about 2 hours - now i can't even access it because it says "Itunes could not connect to the itunes store. Network Connection Timed out. Please check your network connection is active (which it is) or check your network settings (which again I have done and all appear fine, but then again apple does not give guidelines on what could be wrong)
Phew, I thought it was just me. I haven't been able to access the iTunes sore since I upgraded to 7.7 on July 11th. At first I thought it was the 2.0 Swell which caused the servers to crash, but it's been 4 days now and still can't connect. I've done the uninstall/reinstall thing as well, but no luck. I flushed the DNS, no luck. I'm about to uninstall and flush iTunes if this keeps up.
Worst of all, you two are the first people I've seen on here with the same problem, so no one is out there to help.
I had that problem the day that I upgraded as well. I changed the name of a file in the windows/system32/drivers/etc and that worked until yesterday morning. I flushed the dns this morning. It still won't connect. I think something is messed up in the program, and Apple needs to come out with an update to fix it.
I have the same problem. Ever since i upgraded to the latest itunes (7.7) on the 14th july, i have not been able to access the itunes store.
I emailed apple but by accident stated i was running on windows 2000. So the reply i got was of no relevance. I have now submitted another email but yet no reply.
Would appear that there is something wrong with the latest upgrade although apple are yet to acknowledge it. A bit of a disaster with the errors coinciding with the launch of iphone apps, the 3G iphone and 2.0 software!
I went into Norton Internet Security and reconfigured my firewall. Apparantly the newest upgrade for iTunes changed my settings.......I think. On Norton Internet Security, select PRERSONAL FIREWALL> CONFIGURE> PROGRAMS. You'll see a list of your programs that need an internet connection. While scrolling through the programs I noticed that the Airport Utility and iTunes were not permitted to access the internet. This was not the case before the update. A quick change to PERMIT ALWAYS fixed the problem.
THANK YOU!!!! I have tried everything I could possibly find. Now I can finally get on to the the itunes store. But, I do have one more problem. I am not able to buy anything. Nothing. I am just assuming that it is because my credit card expired or ran out. So, when I went to check my information, it wouldn't let me.I can't find anything in the discussions, and apple has stupid solutions that don't solve a thing. It tells me to correct things that are already right. I don't get it. They need better service. So, if anyone has this problem or a solution I would really appreciate it.
Wow!!!!! You are amazing. I had to turn off my internet security but it totally worked. Finally back on iTunes. Thanks XD. Hopefully Apple will figure out how to fix this problem though. I dont want hackers stealing my info. Thanks for nothing Apple
Well, I have Norton 360. I had to actually uninstall Norton, and reboot my computer. All that in order to get my digital copy of a movie I bought today to work. Then I reinstalled Norton, and now it appears to be getting along w/ Itunes 7.7. Only time will tell if the problem is truly fixed. It's a good thing that I did have Norton send me a disc when I bought it online.
