.FLAC and .APE (Monkey's Audio) support in a future version

Could we possibly have .FLAC ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FLAC) and .APE ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monkey's_Audio) support on future versions of iTunes? Or at least an integrated conversion tool as currently with WMA > AAC. It would save a great deal of time and convenience for people who currently either have to manage their music collections on 2-3 different players or convert to iTunes-compatible formats! These formats are becoming increasingly common.
I use an iPod as well so I do need all of my music to be iTunes-readable anyway.
Thanks!

(I hope this is the right place to post this! It does after all concern future iTunes upgrades, and I couldn't find a "development" forum.)

Here here - I have a load of .ape files I want to convert to iTunes and I can only find one piece of software out there - unfortunately the link to it doesn't work (ironic that is on a .mac url) - and the other software I have only plays .ape files does not convert them. As iTunes doesn't support .ape can you point me to a OSX program I can use to convert, I may have missed one.
