I had a 1st generation iPhone & synced contacts and calendar with outlook on my PC at work and everything else on my MacBook at home. It worked great. With the 3G I am unable to sync with my outlook calendar at work. When I sync it appears to be communicating with the PC hard disk but it takes forever to sync and at the end only contacts sync. If i tell it to have the PC's calendar overwrite the info on the phone sometimes it does and others it leaves the phone's calendar intact. I've tried restoring the phone, having outlook overwrite the phone's calendar spoken with online help and spoken with a Genius. Can anyone help?
MacBook 2.4 gHz & iBook G4,
Mac OS X (10.5.4),
Iphone 3g, iMac Flat Screen
I wish i could help mate - but i have exactly the same problem.
With the 3G (its my first iphone so i dont know if the 1st gen one would work. A colleague has a 1st gen one and that works fine on his work PC which is the same) i am unable to sync my calender (outlook 2003). Can sync my contacts fine - just not the calendar. Itunes doesnt even see the different calendar folders.
Maybe mine is a problem with itunes - or my outlook?
i have the same problem... the iphone 3g does not seem to work with windows as far as I can tell....let me hear from one person including an apple iphone tech that it works with outlook and i will keep trying to climb the mountain of this synching problem.
Can't help you with syncing through iTunes, I'm afraid. But I am syncing to Outlook through MobileMe and it works fine. Outlook is running on an XP box.
People have been using Outlook and the iPhone for over a year with no problems. That being said, I'm not sure how to fix your Outlook problem since I refuse to use anything but Mac's anymore...
But here is APple's support topic on Syncing and Trouble Shooting Calendars and Contacts on WIndows:
My problem is even stranger... my 3G is only syncing the meetings I have on Tuesdays, but nothing on the rest of the week... I guess developers at apple only work 1 day a week???
