error 8008 corrupted movie file help???

so i have been trying to download 10,000BC to my computer but for some reason when it gets to about 430.1 mb it gives me error #8008 saying that some of the file is corrupted, in order to redownload the file go to store menu and check for puchases. i have done both this and clicked the redownload button that appears beside the file. neither one is working and just continues to give me the same error message and the exact same place. is there anything that can be done so i can get this file downloaded?

i also can't help, but am having the same experience, having purchased 4 video tracks of Bruce Springsteen "Magic Live". 3 tracks loaded fine, but the 4th stalls with the 8008 error message. ("corrupted file"). i have followed the same routine as Cowabunga, with similar result. is there any way of canceling the whole transaction & starting over, rather then endlessly going back to the same point at which it stalls? i can't get this track from the other 2 sources (Amazon & Rhapsody) as they are USA only

I'm chiming - I've just encountered the same error with my video download.

I've purchased several episodes of Chowder (Cartoon Network). All the episodes downloaded without any problem but one, "Banned from the Stand / Creme Puff Hands / Chowder, Season 2 / Chowder".

The error messages reads:

There was a problem with downloading "Banned from the Stand / Creme Puff Hands / Chowder, Season 2 / Chowder".
Parts of the file seems to be corrupted. To redownload the file, choose "Check for Purchases" from the Store Menu.

If anyone is else reading this, and has a fix, please do share it here.

Thanks
Dan

I probably can't help with the problem, but I can offer a solution. I have had the same problem with downloading "Deadwood Season 1" but only two of the episodes. The rest downloaded fine. That 8008 error continues to come up everytime i tried to re-start the download. I have emailed back and forth with apple for a month, none of their generic "solutions" worked.

I just finally asked for (and got) my money back, and won't download anything else from them until this problem is identified and fixed. I would have gladly tried a bunch of other things, but they never once seemed to know what the problem was, and talked to me like this error was one that never happens. Well, I guess I see I'm not the only one.

I would be glad though to get any input as to why this happens. I just worry that Apple isn't aware of this happening.

Well I don't that this will help as I am having the same problem and it didn't help me. Although thats probably only because Intego wasn't installed. What you may need to do if you have Intego, is go to preferences and disable it, or just completely uninstall it.
If that doesn't work then you might want to try using MSCONFIG. It helps with troubleshoot conflicts if you have Windows XP. The site with the details you need is http://www.info.apple.com/kbnum/n302538 . Follow the instructions exactly. If it doesn't work you can fix everything by doing the opposite in reverse.
Another I'd try if you haven't already, which I believe most of you have, is checking for purchases 3 times in a row. Sometimes purchases get stuck and doing that can help them download.
The last thing I'd try is making a new account and trying to download on that. If you don't know how to make a new account go to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/279783. Again, some of these suggestions only work on a Windows XP operating system.
Also please do not get mad at me if they do not work. I will give you fair warning that they didn't work for me. If anyone else has a suggestion then please share because I really want to listen to my music and watch my videos.
Thanks!!!

Greetings. I had the same problem downloading a file as you. I was working on my iMac. I tried deleting the corrupted file and re-downloading, but that did not work and made the problem worse because iTunes continued to try and download the movie where it had last left off downloading. I finally used my Macbook to download the movie via iTunes, which worked. I transferred the my movie from my macbook to my imac and imported it into my itunes... I hated doing the extra steps but at least I have my movie now.

The fix for this issue is simple...
1) Pause your downloading..
2) Go to the "Downloads" folder in your iTunes folder.
3) Find the folder with your "named" episode or movie.
4) Delete the file "download.m4v"
5) Resume downloading

If you deleted the "download status" from your Downloads icon in iTunes. No worries just go to the "Store" menu and click on "Check for Available Downloads..."

I did this on a Windows PC, but the fix should be the same for a Mac.

I had same problem - what finally worked was adding a new user to Mac. Signing in as that user, then going to itunes, checking for available downloads. It will download the entire movie (Wall-E for me) from the start. You can then copy/paste from the new user's directory to your primary itunes\movie folder and it should be fine. At least that worked for me.

Of course, we had to go through the itunes support rigamarole of trying 50 other things, but that's the one that worked.

I am having the same problem with "Step Brothers" It got to about 1.29 of 1.33 and that popped up, ABSOLUTLEY NOTHING is working, I have tried everything that I thought would help, but nothing is working, I am very surprized and dissipointed that this is not only happening to me but many others too, iTunes really needs to step up and figure this out, they are are really lacking in there troubleshooting. If anything is discovered, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, post it here, thanks:)

_*OK SO I THINK I MAY HAVE FOUND THE SOULUTION!!!!*_
;;;----.:This is in response to my last message:.----;;;

I had been trying the regular. "right click on movie and press delete" Then I tried to "find avaliable downloads"..

And it went right back to the same 1.29/1.33 that it began with.

Then It occured to me, *maybe its not actually deleted!!!*

So I....

1.went to my documents
2.searched for "itunes"
3.found a file that said "download"
4.deleted it!!
5.went back to itunes
6.checked for "avaliable downloads"
7.My movie popped up.. COMPLETELY RESTARTED!

After my movie finishes downloading (if it ever does) I will post a message back here with the results!!

Sure hope it works!!!
