Delayed/slow keyboard.(3G)

My phone has lately been doing this thing where the keyboard slows down considerably and types very slow. I tap a key, and the letter shows up seconds later. This has made texting difficult.
Has anyone experienced this problem? Any advice on how to fix it?

I have had this problem on my Iphone for months. I have yet to find a fix besides rebooting the phone and this really don't seem to help much. If anyone knows why it might doing this I would like to know as well.

Worked out how to fix it. Go to settings/general/Keyboard/Intl keyboards and select two int keyboards. Problem solved.

Hey, when you say 2 int keyboards you mean Eng. plus two or, as my phone shows "International Keyboards 2" (English and Russian)?

I would just set another, like English UK or something see if it works. on mine I have english UK and English both on and it works fine

OK, so if I have 2 keyboards and trying to type anything on this forum it still gets slower then **. It's not right, anyway, having to come up with this kind of solutions for ridiculous problems.

I had this happen 2-3 times in the week or so that I have had the phone. Turning the phone off and back on again seems to solve the problem for me.

the whole phone is laggy. the OS is very slow on this iphone compared to my last.

i load ipod and it takes 3x longer then old phone for music to display...when i load contacts it takes a few seconds to show my contacts.

its just a horribly slow experience in general.

This better be fixed soon. I have to reboot my phone once or twice a day because of this, it is so annoying. It takes like 30 seconds per word. I have submitted this to them, hopefully other people will to, It is unacceptable.

I've had my 3G for a week now, and the keyboard was fine till last night. It is OK at work (on 3G/Meraki WiFi WAPs), but when I come home (3G/Airport Express WiFi) typing is extremely slow. I tried the "add a language" trick and it did not fix the problem.

This is so frustrating I feel like smashing this piece of crap buggy phone. Its unbelievable that after all these firmware updates its still not fixed. I wish they showed that in the commercials. Gotta reboot this thing twice a day.

I have the same problem with the slow keyboard. Usually this happens when I'm in a text conversation with someone. I can normally get totally out of SMS and go back in and the keyboard rate goes back to normal. It does get frustrating though.
