iChat for iPhone

iChat is not available currently for an iPhone. SMS does not work with iChat. I just searched the app store and there is no iChat app yet available

There's an AIM client that works with iChat for free in the apps store...

FYI - SMS does work with iChat.

At the iChat menu bar, go to File and select Send SMS.

Just as with the AOL IM client for the iPhone, if Apple provides an iChat version for the iPhone, it will likely support exchanging SMS.

Not many people are aware of this since Apple hasn't promoted it. I happened upon it by accident a while back which was a surprise to me. Hopefully Apple has an iChat version in the works for the iPhone.

Any chance of a yahoo messenger application in the future?

Sure there is a chance, but no one here has any idea if Yahoo is working on an IM client that is iPhone compatible. Good question to direct to Yahoo customer support.
