ITunes 6 with QuickTime 7.3 error 1603

I have downloaded the above and when I try to install it I get this message sayin the installscript engine on this machine is older than the version required to run setup. If available please install the latest version of Isscript.msi, or contact your support personnel for further assistance. Well I checked and I have the current windows installer and I also went on the install sheild site and downloaded the most recent msi file and the download still wont install. I just downloaded the quicktime 7.2 and it included its own isscript.msi file. Perhaps this download should as well. I have windows XP any suggestions.

Laura,
I had Itunes 5 and I tried to download Itunes 6 and Quicktime well first I had Error code: -3 then I had Error code: -1603 do you have any suggestions for me?

hmmmm. okay, you have Windows Installer

rather than 3.1v1? in that case you're up-to-date. but sometimes 3.1v2 still needs a bit of chastisement before it decides to behave properly.

hi Timothy!

let's try doing a standalone install of QT 7.0.3 first. download a standalone to your hard drive. (we'll run the installation from there rather than online.) switch off both antivirus and antispyware before doing the install.

if that install works for you, then try the itunes 6.0 install again. (take the same precautions as you took for the QT install.)

I can not get Quick time 7.02 to uninstall, even when i try to do it add/change in delete programs. starts to uninstall and stops. any clues?

The error messages i got were; 1603 fatal error during instll, and error 1714 older version of quick time cannot be removed
