Reboot.

Hold both home and lock (do not let go for slide to turn off) keep holding until you see apple logo.

Any other suggestions?

Both my husband I have the same problem

On our home network, suddenly both his new 3G and my old iphone (using 2.0 software) get the same error. Safari says that the server stopped responding.

Worked before, nothing has changed, all the setting look to be correct (IP, DNS, etc.). I've re-booted several times....only thing I haven't done is restore the software....don't want to do that if I don't have to, as it seems to take FOREVER on my phone.

I had this trouble with my first-gen iPhone after upgrading to 2.0. In my case, rebooting the phone did not solve it.

Oddly, the error only occurs at my work on their wifi whereas at home my router seems to have no problems. The other funny thing I noticed was that it happened on certain sites I had bookmarked. I got the error 90% of the time hitting my bookmark, but I could google the site and browse to the page. This led me to believe that the problem was with Safari perhaps so I cleared my cache, cookies and history...voila, no more error.
