How to show "Ownership & Permissions" in "Get Info"?

How to show "Ownership & Permissions" in "Get Info"?

To Uncheck "Ignore Ownership" according to dialog box instructions:
!. Select Disk (Diskwarrior, TechTool Pro, CCCloner) in Finder
2. Choose Get Info in File menu
3. Click "Ownership & Permissions"
4. Uncheck "Ignore Ownership"
I do not see the "Ownership & Permissions" option in any of the 3 applications listed above with the installers or when installed on the internal HD, external backup or bootable disk. Is this data, available in 10.4, no longer available in 10.5?

iMac 2.66, Mac OS X (10.5.4)

are you trying to do this on applications? this option on only available for hard drives. it's certainly present in 10.5.

Yes, it's available but in Leopard it's no longer like Tiger. Leopard uses ACLs now entirely. The "Ignore permissions" option is only available for disks just as it was in Tiger. The option will appear as it did in Tiger at the bottom of the Get Info window. The option was never present for files or applications.

I am trying to run, for example, TechTool Pro installed on an external HD to check my internal HD. When I attempt to do this I get the message indicated in my July 17 2008 1:36PM post (above). Thus, I cannot run TTP because I do not see the "ignore permissions" option at the bottom of the Get Info window. I must be missing some point here. I unchecked "ignore permissions" for TechTool Pro and DiskWarrior in 10.4 and earlier iterations of the Mac OSX.

If you select the internal hard drive on the Desktop then press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window, then you will find the option at the bottom of the window. It will not be active unless OS X is installed on the drive you select.
