Camera only taking 800x600 pictures?

Same problem here. I only get 800x600 pictures and I don't find any setting nor any mention of this in the manual.

Yeah stupid Apple limited the email attachment picture resolution.

Come on Apple! 2Mpix image from iPhone is too small, only 435KB!! What so hard about letting it to be emailed as the original 1600 x 1200 resolution???? Isn't that defeats the point of having WIFI and 3G??

The only way to export the original picture is to use the USB and copy directly from iPhone to your PC

I just loaded photos I took with my 3G into Photoshop. The size was 1600 x 1200.

Yes, just found that the only way to get the original resolution was to use iPhoto (on Mac). Even iTunes can't get the photos out of the iPhone.

About the email resize : I agree with everyone to say it's completely stupid, we're in 2008, come on, stop this lame behavior on an Apple product!

Same here. I was looking for this same exact question. I didn't know I had to use iPhoto to extract the photos from iPhone. I was wondering how I could do that, and ended up e-mailing the photos instead to MobileMe which in turn was only 800x600 and left me scratching my head.

Anyway, not that it matters much. The photos always come out blurry, so resizing to 800x600 is probably better looking than the 2MP pic. =)

My 2 cents, we should be able to add the photos to Mobile "as-is" without having to use e-mail. What's the point of e-mail? Just directly inject the photo into the gallery!
