Is it possible to cancel(stop) a text message mid-send? I have a habit of automatically pressing send then noticing something is spelled wrong. Usually cell phones do this when End-Call is pressed. But taking into consideration the iPhone doesn't have such a button, I was wondering if there is another way of doing this.
I finally managed to figure out how to stop a text from sending. To do this, at the top of the conversation history just hit "contact info" and it'll take you to their contact info page and in the process canceling the text message from being sent!
Submit a request to Apple like I did, and hopefully they will add a "cancel" button after you press send. That's our best bet. The lack of this feature is one of my major gripes I have with the iPhone too...
Two things I noticed with SMS that would be nice-to-have's within the iPhone:
(1) Character count. So what if the message is split on the other end. If I can shorten my text to 160 so they only get one message, that'd be ideal. (which btw, a message over 160... does AT&T bill me for more than 1 message on the sending side as well?)
(2) Cancel button. I've already sent out a couple of texts having fumbled past the I,O, or P keys and hit Send. (Still getting used to the keyboard.)
Thanks for the feedback link... I'll put it to good use.
I've been waiting 15 years to be able to cancel an application launch on the Mac, and still nothing. I wouldn't hold my breath for a way to cancel text messages on the iPhone.
