Is there a quick way to mark all mail as read on an iPhone?

iMac 24" Intel, Mac OS X (10.5.4)

anyone? I have this question too. I want to select multiple email and mark as read, flag with importance, forward, etc. Group email functions seem limited to delete only.

Yes this function would be very useful!

Interesting how there is no response to this. For those of us you get tons of e-mail all day it does not make sense to have to re-read all of them at the end of the day.

Put me on this list waiting for a response as well. Having 4 e-mail boxes coming into this iPhone and having over a hundred e-mails showing all the time is not good. I would like the set the purge number much lower but I could live with 25 as long as they all didn't show up as being unread.

If you have MobileMe and you read a email on your computer, it is synced to your iPhone as read within just a few seconds. That's about the only way.

Actually I do have Mobile Me and I switched from Entourage to Mail to be more compatible, and they do sync like lighting. It is a great tool...however I have not seen that the read e-mails sync as "read" to the iPhone. They still show as unread in my iPhone inbox.

The blue dot should disappear on your iPhone inbox. Sometimes it may be a little slow and over this past weekend, Mobile Me wasn't functioning correctly but it should work out.

Well, I've been at this a week now and it still doesn't work. The blue dot stays on (and the reminder on the main Mail icon) until I open each e-mail and close it or delete it. Is there some setting that I haven't set?
