cross-fade effect missing from transition effects

cross-fade effect missing from transition effects

I used to export slide-shows from image folders with QuickTime, and on Tiger and PowerMac PPC G4 that worked fine choosing cross-fade transitions.
There was also the possibility to export slide-shows with Graphic Converter (using QuickTime effects), and the cross-fade transition was available.

Now, with Leopard and QuickTime 7.5 the cross-fade (aka dissolve transition) is missing from the transition effects. Is that a bug ? Is there a way to recover that transition effect ? I re-installed QuickTime, but that didn't changed things.

The cross fade doesn't work with your old enabled movies or you can't create any NEW movies with it?

I just can't create new movies from slide-shows with cross-fade transitions (export to movie with Quickime).

Also, I just tried iPhoto and it creates crossfade movies with no problem, so we at least know it's still working.

It's not that...
Cross-fades are still available in iPhoto (for movies to the maximum at 640x480), in Preview slide-shows (with no possibility to save), but not in QuickTime slide-shows...

I haven't created a crossfade movie directly in QuickTime in some time (I started using things like LiveSlideShow and eZediaQTI). What are the steps so I can try to recreate?

BTW, iPhoto can export larger movies, you just have to change the defaults (I just tried exporting one to 1024 x 768).

I still have my PowerMac G4 with all things installed, so I checked in QuickTime the slide-show export, and it doesn't have options for transitions in the effects. Oups !
So I guess it's only related to Graphic Converter 5.9.5 where in the transitions the cross-fade isn't available anymore when I upgraded to Leopard. Maybe I should upgrade Graphic Converter.

Anyway, thanks for the iPhoto tip, but I can't find where I can change the default settings...

GraphicConverter is now on 6.1.2, in universal binary, and works with both Tiger and Leopard.

So, yes, worth the upgrade! 🙂

OK, I found the slide-show quicktime export settings. Incidentally, it's not in the export settings from a chosen slide-show (there are only 3 frame sizes, maximum 640x480) but in the export settings from selected images to a slide-show movie.

And yes, I will upgrade Graphic Converter.
