I have a new 3G 16GB iphone and I am not getting text some messages from certain Verizon and AT&T customers. I ported my number over from Verizon and never had this problem before. Is anyone having this same problem. I spent an hour in the AT&T store last night, turning off 3G, resetting phone, dumping data plan and putting it back on and it was still not solved. Thanks in advance for your help.
I don't know why its doing that either.
Some of my friends in Verizon and Sprint saying they have text me, but
I sure didn't get any from them.
Hope its fixable.
I spent an hour texting my wife's phone (Verizon), back and forth and only had 45% success rate with receiving her messages. Yet, she gets all of my texts. Crazy.......
I had AT&T reset my messaging last night, three times! I did the *228 thing and that helped for a bit, just now. However, of the 25 test texts we just did, I didn't get one....I guess that is pretty good odds but I never had these problems with Verizon. So, is it a Verizon issue or an AT&T issue? Thanks!
If your number is newly ported over, Verizon may not have completely released your number. I would definitely call ATT tech support or visit an ATT store and have them troubleshoot your account.
Thanks! Yup, last night was spent at the AT&T Store dealing with a great rep and Tech Support. Both had no clue why this was happening and could not explain. Here is the list of things that have been attempted:
Removed Data Plan and put Data Plan back on account 3 times.
Checked account online with AT&T (both store rep and Tech Support).
Changed SIM Cards with another iphone.
*228 on Verizon phone (both options 1 and 2).
Trouble Ticket started with AT&T Tech Support.
All the above have had negative results. I guess I will see what the Trouble Ticket produces.
The problem may in fact be on the Verizon side. Several users who have contacted customer support at ATT have reported the messages are not even hitting the 'intercarrier network.' See this link for more information.
