It's looking like Excite have removed Safari compatibility with their recent overhaul. Have a read of this discussion for some more information:
I have been using excite mail for many years with no problem.
Huh? Anytime I hit Reply to an excite email, the original message is turned into a garbled mess of html tags. That's been a problem for ohh...6 years or so.
Now I can't access excite mail either. excite email has always sucked. Now it doesn't work at all.
