Apple Remote not working for iPhone

Hello,

The remote app doesn't seem to respond when I enter in the passcode. When I add the library on my iPhone it appears on iTunes and I try to enter the passcode but is just hangs and says "Verifying Passcode" - then after about 2 minutes it clears the entered passcode and does nothing.

Do you know if there is any way to get the remote app to work?
