Question

images in Photo's app smaller than in iPhoto

The images on my Photo's app are considerably smaller than the ones I am sync'ing with in iPhoto.

They are subway maps, so I need as much detail, and rather huge image to scroll around as possible.

Is there a way to have them sync to the iPhone at the same size as they are in iPhoto?

I think the answer is no, unfortunately.

iPhone (actually your computer) shrinks the photos so they are more iPhone "friendly". There is no need for huge, 10 megapixel detailed photos on a small phone.

You could try storing your maps in PDF format where they won't be reduced.

Your sig doesn't indicate where you are, but have you checked the App Store for Subway Map apps? There are some on there (with mixed reviews about price 😉 ), but probably worth it if you use the subway a lot and there's one available.

If you email the PDF to yourself you can open it. I am not sure if you can sync a PDF file though.

I am in NYC. I do have one, but it is just the same version as the MTA printed maps.
There are better, more detailed maps out there as images, that I would have liked to just upload hi rez and pan & scan as needed, but, no luck.

I have the same problem. Want to put some of my private hires images on the iPhone. iTunes seems to scale them to iPhone screen resolution. This drives the very nice multi-touch pan&zoom feature useless, because the zoomed image looks crappy.

I wonder if there exist other ways of copying photos to iPhone? Some software that simply shows you the iPhone file system and let's you copy stuff back and forth? I'm using a Windows PC btw ...
