PPC software on Intel Macs

PPC software on Intel Macs

I have a copy of Photoshop Elements 2 from 2003. On the CD there are Windows and Mac versions. The Windows version works well on my WIndows machine.

I tried to install the Mac version on my Macbook but it wouldn't work. I thought there was a converter built-into OSX to make it work. How do I do this or would I be better with a new version (Photoshop Elements 6)?

Just because you emulate an older chip doesn't mean that every piece of old software is going to run. Nothing prior to CS3 is officially supported on Leopard.

Photoshop Elements 4 is the earliest version that will run on 10.5 - and there are reports of oddities with that. v6 works perfectly well on 10.5.

Thanks to both of you. I had suspected as much. In fact I'd been considering a new version of Photoshop elements anyway. At least it's tax deductable.

Photoshop elements 3 works just fine in leopard. PSE 1 and 2 will not, but all later versions should work okay.
