Creating a Bracket Shape in Keynote

I use the bracket shapes all the time in Power Point and can't seem to find one in Keynote. Anyone know of such a shape?

Use the detour.

In Keynote add an object.

Make the object transparent: no border, no background, no shade.

Click inside and type }

Apply a font, color and size (Cmd-T)

Click outside the object and then select it.

Copy it.

Open Preview.app.

Type Cmd-N

Type Cmd-C

Go to Keynote

Type Cmd-V

You now have the character as an object you can resize.

Pratice with other object/character settings to get the desired result.

Alternatively, you can create a EPS or Tiff object in an external image editor. I use PhotoShop Elements 2.0.

Thank so much. I have tried this now and it works, but keeps the relationship between width and height in the original object when trying to resize it in Keynote. I can try Photoshop but have not used that software yet. Since your reply was so helpful, do you know another way of resizing to precisely the size one might want? I can also create the shape in Power Point, copy and paste to Keynote, but this is less desirable.
