Recording in Microsoft Word

i've recorded interviews using microsoft word, a friend is going to transcribe the interviews for me but she uses a PC. does anyone know how to transfer the files from my macbook to her PC so that once transferred, she can have both the word file open and also the media player so that she can pause the sound while she's transcribing it? so far, we've managed to figure out how to transfer the files but not how to keep both things open at the same time. any suggestions gratefully received.
