Hello, Perhaps you could clarify what's happening?
- When does the error appear
- What application are you using
- What are you doing in the application
- Does there seem to be any similarity between the errors? i.e. does it only happen at one o'clock in the afternoon or when you doing the same thing every time?
- Have you tried rebooting or restoring the iPhone
- You say it's only happened since you upgraded you iPhone. Do you mean you've upgraded to a 3G iPhone or you've just upgraded an original iPhone to v2.0?

Howevre, given your error message, from the site:
http://developer.apple.com/documentation/Networking/Reference/CFNetworkErrors/Re ference/reference.html#//appleref/doc/cref/kCFErrorHTTPConnectionLostError 302 is:
kCFErrorHTTPConnectionLost
*The connection to the server was dropped. This usually indicates a highly overloaded server.*

I'm not sure what this error message specifically identifies the cause being on your iPhone but hopefully if you provide a bit more info we'll be able to work through it.

Same problem here. It happens when several apps try to connect online, especially Safari, to a wide range of websites on my brand new iPhone 2. I think so far it has only happened while connecting using 3G, not wifi, and it is driving me up the wall. Especially because it was such a pain to get the phone in the first place.

I have two iPhones in the home. One has the 2.0 software and the other is using the 2.0.1. Only the iPhone running 2.0.1 sees the error "kCFErrorDomainCFNetwork error 302" when using Safari. This error appears only when opening Safari after turning on or waking from sleep mode. It doesn't matter which website as I've tried all the regular sites I visit such as this one and each time I get the same error.

The other issue I've noticed with this update is that it forgets my WLAN connection when I come back in range. Prior to the update as soon as I accessed any app that required data such as Safari my network symbol would switch from 3G (HSPA) to the SOHO encrypted WLAN. Now it stays on 3G unless I go into the settings for WIFI and wait for it to detect the WLAN.

I just got my 3G iPhone on Tuesday and I got that error straight away trying to use Safari with 3G. Trying to access any network services with 3G gives me that error. Updating to 2.01 didn't change anything. Using EDGE or WiFi I can surf with Safari but not with 3G. And my wifi passwords are not remembered either (using v.201, didnt test with v2).

I called Rogers iPhone tech support and they escalted my support ticket and tried to tell me it was congestion / network issue to. But I think if there was a widespread 3G problem they'd hear about it more. They told me on Tuesday that I was the first to complain about this error. Pretty shocking. I am waiting to hear back.

I tried the 3G again, and it seems to only work now after I switch "enable 3G" then do a network reset in Settings: General: Reset: Reset Network settings. And then only slowly. This will reboot your phone and forget your wifi passwords. One way to tell if 3G is working fer sure is to check your battery indicator. If it is quickly dropping down, then you know you got 3G! 😉

I had the same problem with my iPhone, even with the firmware 2.0.2 installed. Difficulties with Web access on the iPhone (error 302), even with a perfect signal strenght, happening on 3G or Edge, and happening in more than just Safari: the weather does not get updates, Mail fails fetching the last state and so on.

The problem, if it was the iPhone, is now gone. Here's what I have done...

1. A full backup of my iPhone in iTunes.
2. A sync with iPhoto, iCal and Address Book to be sure to not loose anything important
3. A double check in the Preferences to see if the backup is actually there
4. A total restore of the iPhone (set it up as a new iPhone... it will erase everything)
5. Try the "new iPhone", I had no problem to connect to the internet, everything was fine so...
6. I made a restore from the last backup

On the final, everything was back to normal with my iPhone, and no more sign of the "error 302" problem.

Sorry for the bad english, I speak french usually. 🙂
