I have an iMAC with leopard installed, and I also own an Uwatec Smart com console dive computer. to be able to download the dive computer information on my home computer it requires an inferred reader. I have been looking for an inferred reader that is compatible with my computer. I have already contacted Uwatec but they can only offer me support for the dive computer. The IrDA that I own is just a generic reader and does not have a brand on it.
Has anyone come across an IrDA reader that is compatible with MAC? or know of a driver that i can download to solve this problem?
Thanks for all the help.
Hey, my friend...can't offer any advise, but am looking for the exact same thing for the exact same dive computer...curious if you may have found a solution elsewhere? Look forward to hearing from you, and hope you've have more luck in your quest than I have...
I don't have a solution but a similar problem. I have an UWATEC SmartTec, which has a built in IrDA connection and supposedly my MacBook Pro 17" has a IrDA port (located on the front next to the lid open button. I've downloaded JTrak from ScubaPro's website which works on Mac OSX. JTrak seems to function OK but I can't figure out how to get the computer to communicate with the SmartTec. The IrDA reciever is turned on in system preferences. Anyone got any ideas? Is some sort of intermediate interface or a USB IrDA interface required?
My old Powerbook G3 (Pismo) has an IrDA port on it. I don't know if you can find any of those out there for sale, cheap. Not sure if it would work, though.
