Is there a way to put a PDF on my ipod? I tried it with FileMagnet and it doesn't seem to like that kind of file, tried to put it in iPhoto and it won't accept it. I thought I saw that this was possible, so how do you do it? (I'm trying to save a high res pdf map of the paris subway system onto my ipod, so I"m hoping I'll be able to zoom in on it once its in there, without lowering the resolution)
I tried again and actually did manage to transfer the PDF both by FileMagnet and by email, but in both cases, it won't let me zoom in on the pdf at all. Is there a way to make that work better?
Hmm. I just tried zooming in on some of my PDFs and the zoom does seems limited. It zooms in to a point then stops. Trying to zoom in further just springs back out again. I dont know of a way to zoom in further Im afraid.
You can save the PDF as a jpeg in Photoshop by using the 'save a copy' function. As for DiskAid, I don't think it requires jailbreaking the iPod, though I haven't used it myself so I'm not 100% certain. In any case, it's an app for the Mac, not the iPod.
If you can wait a couple days, I'd try DataCase. It looks to be the kind of thing you're looking for.
I don't have photoshop. Did you mean iPhoto? I can't get it into iPhoto in the first place, and I tried doing save a copy in adobe reader and it just saved it as another pdf. Anyway, a jpeg will still be compressed to lower resolution on the ipod...
But frankly, I think it's worth waiting for DataCase, which will likely do what you need as long as it does what it says it will do. I'm hoping so, in any case. My interest is also in PDFs & I hold high hopes. Its App Store release date is the 28th.
