Sign up WITHOUT a credit card?

In the U.S., you can use Paypal.

You can always use gift cards.

You can sign up with a credit card then remove your CC info.

Chris is correct. You must use a credit card or paypal to sign up, but you can remove that info after you have signed up.

I don't see why they don't let people do this.

Because they're required by the content owners to verify that you're a resident of the country whose store you're trying to use, and the only practical way to do that is to require either a credit card with a billing address in that country or a gift card and a valid mailing address for that country. This is required even for free content, which though it's provided at no charge to you still carries copyright and licensing specific to each country.

I am looking for a way to allow individuals to download my app. The app will be available for free and downloaded to devices possible owened by the end-users employer. It will be stretch to ask everyone end-user to use their CC to create a work related account.

If you found a way to create iTunes accounts without a CC, it may be a solution for our customers. Can you please share the details?
