Accounts with AIM and Jabber (Google Talk)

My iChat was recently updated (Monday, July 21, 2008) to 4.0.5 (608) and has poor connection with AIM and Jabber (Google Talk). Every time I open iChat and connect to AIM or Jabber (or both at the same time) to chat with a friend, a minute later, there is no response from any chats. For AIM, I always received an alert: "Could not connect to AIM; Cannot log in to AIM. General error. Try again." And other times, it comes up with the message: Server connection failed. As for my Jabber, it does not even give me a message. I just notice that my friends stop responding. When I called my friend, she told me that it said I logged off.

How can make sure that I can be logged on to 2 accounts at the same time and keep connection? Is this a software update issue?

I thought it had to deal with my server and port connections, but I checked with my friend and her's are identical. The only difference between our iChats is that she is using the version before the most recent software update.

These are my server and port connections for AIM and Jabber (Google Talk):

AIM:
Server- slogin.oscar.aol.com
Port- 5190

Jabber:
Server- talk.google.com
Port- 5223

Please help!

Ok,

On the AIM name try port 443.

It would seem to be more prudent to say why is you Internet Connection dropping enough to effect iChat particularly as it is both types of Accounts.

If WiFi it may be interference from another device like a roaming phone or even a microwave or other wireless routers.

You may not notice in a web browser or mail as they are not really Always On like iChat is.

The type of interference may not bring down the whole connection to be enough to close the Buddy List to indicate you have lost the internet, just long enough to lose the server.
