The star key on my phone seems to not be working properly. If I call into my office phone system to retrieve messages, the entry into the mail system requires a double push of the star key. Normally this will take me to another prompt to enter mailbox and password, but when I push star star on the phone the voicemail system exits and ends. Are there any known issues with the star key?
I just got a new G3 iphone but I can't get messages from my office voicemail either as the star key does not work. I spoke to ATT and Apple today and so far there is no fix. I love the phone and would love to keep it but I can't without being able to access my office calls.
oh, meant to add, call your voicemail number, while it's connecting the call go to your recorder app. When your voicemail opts for the 2 star tone hit play on the file where you have saved your two star tones. Sould work.
The phone my boss uses has the same problem accessing voicemail across both the original iphone and the 3g phone platform. We've tried updating the software and so forth to no avail.
We have an employee with a cracked iphone with a t-mobile sim chip in it and that one CAN generate the dual-tone star key signal ... on the t-mobile network. It may be a problem with AT&T. Please keep this thread alive as I am in the lurch with this issue also. We have investigated using the newer PBX from nortel in our office, but that will have us spending well over $10,000 to get a $200 gadget to work right.
Can your office (or home) e-mail your messages to you? That is how I listen to mine. Comes in as an attached wav file which can be listened to directly in e-mail.
