Looking to buy imac g3 atleast 500 mhz

I've looked all over ebay for an crt imac but haven't found anything. I'm looking for anything at or above 500 mhz, all colors except indigo. I will make a good offer. If you don't have one, anyone who knows of somewhere besides ebay to find one, i would appreciate your help. Thanks.

Books,
Whoa those one's on that site that Alan references ARE expensive!
Where in N.C. are you?
Here's one on Craig's "Old IMAC Computer - Need to get it out! - $50 (Southwest Durham)"

I can always find a lot on Craig's here in Chicago. Often even if they're located a distance from where I live people are often in my neighborhood or are willing to meet halfway.

To follow Richard's comments, you are obviously much better off if you can find something locally to avoid shipping--it's likely to be $30-50. Invest some time researching computer recycling in your area.

Some of these places are not-for-profits and sell working computers and parts to cover expenses. Deals often abound. Check for educational auctions; schools are shedding old iMacs and eMacs.

Allan et al,

Exactly, that's what I do here in Chicago. Here's my blurb:
"I gather, restore, upgrade and repair computers. These computers are then donated to schools in the inner city. These are typically high needs schools. Many have no computers at all!
The iMac in particular is very desirable in these situations:
a) It has a small footprint and is self contained.
b) I have a large amount of educational software that I load them up with.
c) The kids love them. I have seen iMacs get hugged. I never see that with any other computer.
Most of the children who are at these schools have no computers at home. In cases I'm working with now this is true for all of the children. The ones I donate provide the first hands on experience they have ever had.

Harry Porterfield did a piece on me last year.

"
And like you said schools are cycling them out. I recently moved 20 350s out of a school here in IL. 8 are still waiting in my basemsnt.

I have one of the ones from PowerMax for about 2 years, no problems at all. I was surprised it was a "Flower Power" one though. It still looks new, no scratches at all! But I've had no problems with their service, when my other items break, their support is really helpful. Sure, its a bit expensive, but its worth it. Some other dealers:

The only reason I suggested newer ones is they are able to run Tiger better, along with more power for flash, stuff like that.

I've been reading your expert advice on our older iMacs on various topics over the last months. I just happened to be looking through this post and came across the link you gave to the work you are doing for your schools. I already knew you were doing something like this from your previous posts, but I had no idea of the scale. I am very moved and impressed by your generosity and largeness of spirit. Thank you for helping those kids.
