Command - C shortcut not working

Repair permissions & restart your computer. Hopefully, that should resolve your issue.

It would help if you provide your system info & OS version you are using by completing the +My Settings+ located in the right column.

This used to be a fix for this condition in Panther, so it may be worth trying.

In ~/Library/Preferences locate these two files and trash them.
com.apple.finder.plist
com.apple.sidebarlists.plist

To re-establish them log out and in.
You will need to reset your Finder and sidebars as you had them before.

I'm having more or less the same problem (was first stricken with it about two weeks ago).
Clicking Copy in Edit menu does the trick, ie copies, but the Command C shortcut, in any application mysteriously and infuriatingly brings up some document in Adobe reader.

In addition, it may by pertinent, this problem first manifest itself when the keyboard shortcut I had assigned under the dictionary app Ultralingua( nothing to do with Command C) also brought up the same uncalled for document in Adobe Reader.

I have tried various things, including repairing permission, but to no avail.

The problem (both of them actually) is driving me nuts. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Try this,

Open system preferences-->keyboard and mouse--> click the keyboard shortcuts tab.

then click the restore defaults button.

Alas, that is something I had already tried but also to no avail. I have just tried it again, just to be sure, but still no joy. (I made sure I restarted the computer.) Obviously some linkage has gone seriously awry.Maddening.

Is that keyboard shortcut set for listening or speaking in System Preferences>Speech>Speech Recognition (also check Text to Speech tab)?
