Today, I spoke with Allison at Apple. She reviewed my previous contacts in regarding dropping calls while on 3G. She walked me through a hard reset on the i-phone, and Holy S---!, it worked. I am now able to send and receive telephone calls within my residence while the i-phone is in 3G. I live in the Pocket Area of Sacramento, CA 95831. I'll drive in other parts of Sacramento to make sure everything else is working. If things go downhill I'll let everyone know.

+Apple are a little more forthcoming and a guy i spoke to on the phone finally, and i mean finally admitted that it is an issue that their tech guys are aware of and working on.+

I sincerely hope so.

And I hope if its software that it will fix the issue once and for all.

And I hope if its a hardware issue then they will own up and swop defective units.

i am on long island in south western nassau county in franklin square east of elmont new york. well i went to the att website to check the 3G in my area according to the map i was in very good 3g area. well since i have got the 3g i-phone i have not been able to use the 3g service at all because every time i use the the 3G connection my cell signal is 1 and if i am luck sometimes 2 bars. and the battery life while in 3g mode has been at best only 45 min with bluetooth location service and wifi turned off. so i called up apple support and after talking to the tech i was told that i would have to go back to at&t and get a new sim card. well after replacing the sim card i sill am having the same problem as i was haveing before the sim swap. i have verified 3g coverage in my area by using another non apple 3G phone and the 3G reception on the non apple phone is full bars with 3G fully working no problems..

on another note wondering if anyone has had any problems with wifi while using bluetooth headsets?? make a call and use my motorola h500 bluetooth headset and the wifi signal goes way. i am not able to get on to any website and use any web services till i end the call and turn off the headset it self. i can leave the bluetooth on on the iphone and theres no problemjust when i have the headset on that i am haveing this problem

O2 replaced my iPhone 3G the other day due to a rattle in the earpiece. The courier turned up and pulled out a brand new, sealed iPhone 3G box and swapped it with mine.

After syncing the new iPhone on iTunes I went straight to the office to check out the 3G signal strength..........and hey presto it is 100% better than the old one. Great signal everywhere.

O2 iPhone customer services were superb and even called me back to check all was ok. Well done O2.

Now Apple it's your turn to step up....let's have a response to signal and case cracking issues!!!

Hello Taltal,

Yes 🙂 🙂 🙂

We still have strong and stable 3G reception (when in a 3G coverage area). So far, no problems... on all three of our iPhone 3G's! I have now switched 3G off (to help conserve my battery life) and only turn it on when I want to surf, check email, etc. Otherwise I am talking on 2G.

My kids keep 3G on all the time!

Thanks,
Doug
