Apple mobile device helper

Since downloading the 7.7 update, I keep getting an error reading "applemobiledevicehelper" error. I can't do anything with my NEW itouch due to this error. I have un-installed and re-innstalled itunes at leat 10 times. Even starting at 7.6 and upgrading again. I have tried stopping and starting the service like this site suggests. Is there any help out there????

In addition to not being able to synch my iPod Classic to my Windows XP PC ever since version 7 came out -- this morning, I opened iTYunes, and it started loading multipl versions (over 30) of AppleMobileDeviceService/Helper.exe, up to the point where over a gigabyet of memory was in use (my machine has never been that high, it was cutting into virtual memory and wirting other memory temoporarily to my hard drive). This went on for almost an hour, and never subsided, until I closed iTunes. Apple better fix this soon -- they're not gonna win any quality awards putting out trach upgrades like this.

Yeah, the same thing happened to me.
Ever since i updated my iTunes, my computer has been totally messed up.
Anytime I open up my Itunes, my computer goes crazy and the Virtual Memory becomes low.
And then, if I try to shut down my computer, it states that there is an erroe, involving the Apple Mobile Device program.
So, about two weeks ago, I deleted it, thinking it wasn't necessary.
But when I deleted it, my computer and iTunes would not recognize my iPod Classic.
So I had to restore my computer so I could retrieve the Apple Mobile Device support.
And now, my compuer is going crazy again, and I get scared opening iTunes.
What should I do?
Someone please help
=(
Thanks

I've been having ths same problem. Follow the instructions on apple.com to uninstall ITunes and Apple Mobile Device. I just did it today & so far it seems to be working. It's been about 5 minutes since I reinstalled Itunes 7.7 on Windows Vista and I have not had the error message.

I have an IPOD nano & it is now syncing with ITunes.

If you just uninstall Itunes and not the AMD you will continue to get the messages. That's what I think I did wrong initially (I've been going through this all week).

FYI, you will not lose your library of music etc. Once you reinstall Itunes everything comes back. I did not have to save my library prior to the uninstall.

Good luck.

PS. uninstall ITunes - restarted the computer then follow the steps to uninstall AMD.

I hope it works for you for I know what you've been going through.
