Musical Keys Wont allow certain chords!

While trying to create a bassline using the musical keys keyboard function in garageband, I found that garageband will not let me do certain chords such as a full B (keys J L and ' ) and several other key combinations. Why is this? Is there any way i could change settings to allow for all key combinations? Please Help.

Macbook Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.4), garageband musical keyboard
