What type of screwdriver do I need to install AirPort/Bluetooth Card A1126
My airport extreme card was causing kernel panics, and I discovered one antenna wire was unplugged, but without unscrewing the card, I'm unable to plug the antenna back in. My question is what type of screwdriver do I need to unscrew the card? I have a 17" iMac G5 without the built in iSight and the layout is exactly like the one pictured in this DIY guide :
http://manuals.info.apple.com/en/imacG517inchharddrive.pdf
This manual shows you all of the steps required including the screwdiver, a Phillips #2 screwdriver. The Airport card itself pushes in. It is not screwed.
Thanks for the speedy reply, but I have a second generation 2.0 GHz 17-inch iMac G5 (Ambient Light Sensor so the card isn't the same as the first generation iMac G5. I apologize as I should have stated my specific model and generation info in my first post.... It's been a long 4 days without my mac.
Thank you for the link, but they only list a DIY install guide for the original iMac G5. My airport/bluetooth card is very similar/almost exact to the card found in the iSight iMac G5s.
As far as I can tell, you need a #2 Philips head screw driver, preferably with a magnetized head. If you look at the instructions for replacing the battery on the 17" Ambient light [manuals.info.apple.com/en/imacG5
allModelsBackupBattery.pdf ](I know you want to replace the Airport card, but you have to take it out in order to replace the battery), all you need it the above mentioned screwdriver, so you should be fine with it.
A T6 torx screwdriver was required to remove the airport express card in my second generation iMac G5 (w/ Ambient light sensor). Thank you guys for your help. I found this great guide that gave me the model number and part number of the airport express card used in my iMac (

maybe it'll help someone later down the road?
Also, the DIY guide does not apply to generation 2 ambient light sensor iMac G5s as the airport card is different and not "user replaceable." Gen. 2 iMac G5s w/ambient light sensor use Apple Part #661-3614, model A1126, whereas gen. 1 iMac G5s, use Apple Part # M8881LL/A.
