Password protected playlists

Is there a way to password protect my playlists so that my kids cannot get or hear songs that are on my playlist onto their iPods??? I have gone into edit, then preferences on iTunes and clicked sharing, then clicked require password and created a password, but when I go into iTunes again and try to click on that particular playlist, it just comes up and does not require a password!! Help!!!!!

No, you cannot password protect playlists if the person is using your computer account.
You can (but really you should) give them their own login account on the computer. (Start -> Control Panel -> User accounts).
This will keep them from getting into your music as well as keeping them from messing up the computer since you likely have administrator privileges.

I have gone into edit, then preferences on iTunes and clicked sharing, then clicked require password and created a password,

This is for iTunes sharing over the local network.
