Contact Picture size when iPhone rings

I get a small picture too (on an original iPhone with v2.0). What do you get that's different?
Maybe it is to do with the way you've set up contact pictures. Have you or she added contact pictures in Address book, then synced with iTunes, or added them directly in iPhone from the camera?

If you take a contact's picture with the iPhone and assign it to a contact using the iPhone, it will display full screen on an incoming call.

If you assign the picture to a contact using an external program (i.e. outlook on a computer), it will display as a small picture in the upper right on an incoming call.

I forget what happens if you assign the picture to a contact using Address Book on a Mac.

Here's what you need to do.

In iPhoto set up a new album. I named mine "Contacts". In this album put all the photos you'd like to use for your contacts. I suggest 1200x1600 sized photos because that's what the iPhone photos are (so you'll get a consistent experience).

In iTunes, sync this album to your iPhone.

On the iPhone, go to Photos, and select a photo and push the button on the bottom left of the screen. Select "Assign to Contact".

Once you've found the appropriate contact it will now appear full screen when you receive a call.

I have the opposite problem. My iPhone displays the full size contact photo but I would actually prefer it to do the small photo with contact info next to it. How do I get it to do that?

I would also like to know how to get the iPhone 3G to display the small picture instead of the full screen one.

Yes, do the opposite of what was suggested above. Upload the pictures onto your computer and then assign the contacts those pictures through outlook or address book or whatever.

Now why on earth do they make us do that?? I DON'T HAVE a complete address book on my computer, I don't use it there, and more important, I DON'T WANT to have to create one... Why can't they just place a dumb simple setting to choose big or smal display of the contact photo..? Is that too hard?
