C:\Documents and Settings\{username}\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\
Ok, not too long ago I downloaded some music. I come back from my moms house to listen to iTunes and I click on the music I downloaded recently...switchfoot, steve martin, and others...well, when I click on the song, it says 'The Song "input one of my many missing songs" could not be used because the oroginal file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?" And I clocked check for purchaced music and it said nothing was missing. But on iTunes it still shows the Song Name, Artist and everything...just no music.

Are the music files (.mp3, .mp4a, .mp4p etc) in this place on your PC:
C:\Documents and Settings\{username}\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\
C:\Documents and Settings\{username}\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\
It shows the file of the Artist, such as Switchfoot, I click that, then it shows the Album, Nothing is Sound, I click that and it opens. But there is nothing at all in that file. Empty...the songs are the type of file that is downloaded from iTunes...i think thats AAC or what ever it is, but yea.
Did you look in the Recycle Bin? Do a search for the above file types to see if they got moved?
(And as a side note, PLEASE don't start multiple threads with the same topic. When you do, the people that can help you have to 'go hunting' to see what's already been suggested. It's NOT fun.)

If the folders aren't there, but the music .m4p files are not, they had to have been moved. And I don't think by iTunes! If sorts things around it moves the folders as well.
Yes, check your recycle bin and also do a Start > Find > Files or folders named .m4p.
That is the file extension for iTunes protected songs.

I tried and got nothing back on what boath of you told me. I have been out of town with no net acces to check this, but I think I have one thing I HOPE I can try. Does anybody know how to transfer music from an iPod into a blank iTunes for windows. If anybody can help me with this, you will be a life saver!
Same problem here. Lost like 300 songs. Still on the iPod, but not on my computer anywhere. I know I didn't do it, and the girlfriend didn't do it, and I doubt the cat/dog did it. This is weird.
Yes, I do know how, and I'll email the steps to you. toxicpolarbear76@gmail.com

Hi Nick.
Please let me know if this works for you. Every time I enter iTunes I get a message that reads "There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive." and I can't access about 20% of my songs.
Very frustrating!
