iPartition help please!

I made a 7GB Mac Extended HFS(journaled) partition on my external USB 320GB harddrive using iPartition, but after committing only the 7GB partion mounts, not the remaining/original 290GB which contains all my data/music/etc. I have tried repairing/verifying in Disk Utility but only get an error message,
"Disk Utility stopped repairing “disk1s3” because the following error was encountered:
The underlying task reported failure on exit," and nothing else takes place. I really need to get my original drive partition back as soon as possible, so if anyone has any recommendations I would greatly appreciate it. Is there any solution using iPartition so I can get things back to normal without having to format? Thanks, CBB
