Using Keyboard as Midi Controller?

Does anyone know of a way for me to use my standard aluminum keyboard as a Midi controller?

Possibly a driver or plugin of some sort?

iMac 24", Mac OS X (10.5.4)

If you press the Shift Lock key your mac keyboard becomes a... musical keyboard but you can play only notes there.

If you want something more sophisticated then (I think) that you should verify which of the MIDI code that you need can be configured as Key Commands.

Using the shift lock I've used the keyboard in Garage Band, But Logic Pro doesn't seem to support the same method.

I'm fairly new to Logic, how do I verify MIDI code?

I think it's the CAPS LOCK key in Logic..........

I figured out my problem, I was starting the track out wrong. Instead of creating it as a software instrument, or an external MIDI, I had just made straight audio tracks.

Thanks for your help though, your solution worked perfectly once I corrected my initial mistake.
