iTunes movie trailers not playing?

Just tried to rent a movie through AppleTV and got the spinning wheel for minutes; the trailer won't play either. Also attempted to download through iTunes on my computer and ran up against the same problem.

I have a good connection, my speed is fine, and other sites load just fine- including the iTunes store. Anyone else dealing with this?

MacBook Pro 15" Glossaay, Mac OS X (10.5.4)

We rented movies a couple of days ago and all seemed to download OK. We also watched trailers on our AppleTV yesterday and it worked. However, I'm not getting any trailers to play on my MBP. I thought maybe it was the iTunes update, but have no way of knowing for sure.

Well iTunes movie previews worked fine this morning, but now I'm back to the same thing- movie previews won't play on both iTunes and through my Apple TV. Something's up with iTunes. My internet connection is just fine and I'm able to view other sites like YouTube and CNN and watch videos quickly and without issue.

I thought perhaps the iTunes update that just came out might have addressed the issue. Not sure what's going on. Anyone else experiencing this?

Do other videos play ok in iTunes? Have you updated your QuickTime lately?

Hey Diane,

All videos won't preview- music videos, tv shows and of course, the movie trailers themselves. Oddly enough, music previews work as usual. All software is updated. I am noticing iTunes is a bit slow when switching to through the various "stores"- movies, app store, tv shows. I've done all the usual things: quit iTunes, restart, etc.

Yep, my entire iTunes library of TV shows, home videos, and movies play just fine. Again, the previews were working this morning through iTunes and my Apple TV. Now, back to the same.

Ok, I think I may have figured this out. After all the hub bub about Comcast and their bandwidth throttling, I thought might change my DNS setting with OpenDNS. Well the minute I changed them, boom, the trailers loaded both through iTunes and my Apple TV without issue.

Could my isp (Suddenlink in Kingwood, Texas) be throttling traffic from particular sites like iTunes? I hope not. I did another bandwidth test after my OpenDNS changes and the speed is still 8mbs so speed was never the issue.

Hope this helps someone else out.
