can't download safari 3

When I tried to log in to my .mac account, a window appeared that said i must download safari 3.
I choose the upgrade for tiger 10.4. When I attempted to install a message said that my hard drive was not suitable. why? I own a G5 pre intel dualie and am running tiger 10.4.
